Is it just me or is the F650GS virtually impossible to get on the centre stand.

My 1150GS is a doddle. Even with a full 41L tank and 100L plus of choc full luggage the lightest pressure gets it onto the stand.

Therefore why do I find myself failing totally to get my wifes 650 on its stand? The leaverage seems poor and there is nothing to hold onto in the correct place to steady and ease the bike up.

Any ideas?

Have you tried putting downward pressure on the stand with your foot at the same time as you lift the bike up with your arm/hand?

tried downward pressure, all that happens is that I end up standing on the 'foot pad' with my full weight but nothing happens.

Just a thought but has anybody messed with the suspension and hence lenghened the centre stand ???

that would make hard for you to get it up:D :D :D

The funduro had as an option a lowering kit, this included a shorter stand, has your bike been partially modified? Lower suspension and original stand? I could of course be talking complete b$%^&"s as it may not be an option on the GS

Should be called an off centrestand! It's heavily weighted to the front.

Right hand on pillion grab handle, right foot on stand lever, and left hand holding handlebars. In one fluid motion, right hand lifts, right leg pushes down and left hand pulls rearwards.
Bike has to remain vertical with weight evenly balanced on the stand legs.

Practice over a puddle (ie lower ground where stand is).

We have owned the bike from new so no modifications. Although a new rear shock was fitted within a month of picking it up new as it was leaking oil (begging the question was it PDI'd?).

The pillion handle/handle bar/ foot on stand approach is used each time with moderate success when no luggage fitted but poor results even with empty panniers fitted.
