Carpuride fitting

Iain,
Look at either Airalo or Saily for eSIM's
For 2 weeks EU was about £10 depending on how much data you want. If you're camping you may want a bit more data, but with hotels you can use Wi-Fi for normal surfing
Ta Neil I'll look into them.

I fitted the W602 Pro yesterday to my Multistrada and have two questions

Is there a better adapter plate that fits the unit without the Ram ball ?

If you don’t want the remote or it’s yellow lead is there something to terminate the unwanted yellow flying lead ?IMG_3704.jpegIMG_3702.jpegIMG_3711.jpeg

Use a small 10mm standoff - plenty on Amazon
longer bolt and secure the ball

i could stick one in the post if needed

You don't say what you are fitting the W602 Pro to... Is it a flat plate, a round bar or what?

The Four inset brass nuts matched the Garmin mount.

Yeah, I had the same issue. In their infinite wisdom, Carpuride decided to use a different hole pattern in the rectangular fitting included in the W602 fitting kit...

I searched for an adaptor plate to create the alignment, but didn't find anything suitable. So, I'm left with the ram type thing, which is not really ideal.

As for the yellow wire, the cap is on the wrong end (it's on the bit that is connected to the remote), which is just plain daft. I ended up heat shrinking a cover over the exposed end.

I think the mounting system is a bit of a weakness in this model. On the other hand, I use mine on two bikes, one of which is a BMW with nav prep. It just slots into that.

I just tested it by riding round the block. The interface and position is all good. I need to work out what apps I want where but for simple sat nav it was good. MRA wasn’t setup and I need to try that.

Yellow remote control cable has been heat shrinked and once the mounting is finished I will tuck it away.

My concern about the mounting position is still there, it wobbles, not much but enough to be annoying and know it will eventually break. As I have failed to find the correct adapter plate, I think next step is to sketch it up, get it modelled at work then find someone locally to 3d print it.

Unless anyone has a better solution?
