Centre Stand Removal GS1200

can someone advise the easiest way of refitting the centre stand spring on a GS1200? I have done the coin method and it took bl**dy hours any tricks of the trade easy ways?

Havent tried it on a GS centre stand spring, but on similar springs I've forced a big flat bladed screwdriver all the way in about two loops from the end. Keeping it perpendicular to the spring it's been possible to strech it into place as you can get two hands onto the screwdriver.

I guess you'd need to re-fit the spring with the stand up as there's less tension on the spring at that point?
