BMW manual states organic rear brake pads. I have purchased some online and Ceramic pads made by SBS have arrived. I have been advised that organic is the same as ceramic? Is this try and will have increased disc wear?

Nah matey. Sand to the arabs.... The man in the shop said.............. hehe

There has been some talk about the ceramics increasing the disk wear but whether the reduced pads offsets the disk replacement is yet to be confirmed.

All i know is i wore my first LC pads out at 10,000m which seems crazy.

Whats the part number for these?...for the LC GS right?

Yes lc model
They are SBS 674HF
I am led to believe they are softer that metal sintered as they use copper bits rather than steel?
Not a lot of info on google

Had my rears replaced recently, but the new ones have only about half the meat of the fronts, so appeared worse than they actually were, but I would imagine they would only last approx 8k miles, so need careful checking... On a good note I think u could change the rear pads without taking the rear wheel off.. (spoked wheel)
