Anyone had chain tensioner issues with their 1200?? I know there was an upgrade made on the 1150 and presume the new design is used on the 1200 (ie no spring) I have a ticking noise on the LHS and have done the valves and rocker end play ... please do not say they all do that
I have been told that the chain tensioner can 'hang up' ... stick??? Not sure how as the new design is essentially a piston in a barrel with holes to let the out and release tension ... from what I can gather?

Not sure there is an tensioner issue on the 1200? The LHS tensioner on the 1150 was modified as the oil could drain out of the plunger mechanism when the engine was stopped hence losing the tension until the oil pump filled it back up but that was only an intermittant problem at start up.

Have you set the end float to to the lower value of the spacified range? If not that may help.

If the plunger did stick it could cause the tensioner to stay in a fixed position but if it's the same design as the 1150 it's very easy to unscrew the tensioner and have a look to check the piston is free to move. Not heard of anyone reporting this though

Mine does it too....
