Cherry soon to be popped

I was there this morning and saw Stew in the Guzzi section with a customer, it could well have been you Wessie, I was down on the Tuareg for a brew and booking the Mandello in for a service.

Enjoy the V85👍👍

he was grovelling on the floor trying to check the VIN to ensure he got the right stock no.

I was poking around to see where the accessory sockets and other bits were. Stew is not big on tech and was referring me to younger members of staff if I wanted to speak about bluetoothing to the colour telly on the bike.

I was wearing a dark grey Hein Gericke Cruise jacket that is still going strong after a couple of decades.

Around 1pm

I walked past you 😂 Had a tin of quality street in my hand for sweet talking the service staff 😃

Feck me, do you have a needle and thread, I think I may have split my sides, if you must know he has spent the last 20 years overseeing quality control on the A380 wings, this is a retirement side gig for him. He is a decent an honest guy, so dont quite get where you are coming from unless its the Pernod again
no, i ran out of lemonade and creme de menthe , with ice
try it , it goes down far to easily , and then your legs stop working !
it looks like Honda antifreeze
equal measures of pernod , c de m , add ice , top off with lemonade .....i dare you !

This place gets stranger by the day

Reminds me of a Dave Allen joke about two Paddies going to the Vatican to see the pope. They then go in a bar and ask what the pope drinks. The barman answers “Crème de Menthe”. “Well, we’ll have two pints of that then”

They wake up in a crumpled heap in the doorway of the bar about 3 in the morning

“You ok, mate?”

“fuck me, if he drinks that stuff, I’m not surprised they carry him round on a chair”

it's all down to the dealer applying for an allocation of consecutive numbers

with online registration, some probably don't bother and just take a number the computer offers

Stew had a sheet of A5 with about 40 numbers to choose from, well the 10 or so left that had not been marked as taken already. Seems they have a lot of bikes rolling out of the door next month with 2025 reg. The advantage of selling mostly brands offering bikes at sensible prices.
Exactly this Wessie , I bought a new scoot from A&D last March, same thing, they had a list of numbers to select from. As an aside the team at A& D are excellent to deal with

Excellent. A proper bike. Very enjoyable. Roll on spring and I might retrieve mine from the garage.
I went out on mine yesterday, first time since end of November (I've turned into a fair weather rider) It was only a 50 mile bimble around the backroads to Southport. To say I felt rejuvenated is an understatement, missed it so much.

Not been out since November myself Al, keep it taxed all year though and the mad March itch has started to appear suddenly 🤔😜 was sitting planning a trip on my Tablet last night that I've wanted to do for a while.....Sandaig Bay, where Ring of Bright Water was set, and on to Glenelg Inn for an overnight stay before ferry to Skye in the morning 👍👍

Lovely bike and I like the colour, think of it as adventure travel dust taupe (y) Enjoy your travels

Odd coves, underwriters.

Being of the diligent sort with matters of insurance, I of course made sure I could get quotes on a brand new bike parked on my drive, before I signed the order book. My current broker, Devitt, came back with a reasonable price that seemed competitive. Same Ageas policy as I have now. That was last month.
This morning, rung Devitt to change bikes on 6 March for a policy that runs until early June. Ageas won't quote for the change. The helpful chap offers to refer but we agree to see if the rest of his panel will quote for a new policy. Bingo, similar price to the quote I had in Feb, but from Aviva today so a new policy started.

Fuckers.

Watching this thread to see how you get on, Wess.

I think a V85TT might be my last bought-from-new big bike.

I'm hoping this will be my last big bike change until I retire from long distance touring as well. This change has been enforced to try to get a more comfortable ride as there is plenty of life left in the R1200RS for someone.

One might hope to carry on for a while on an MP3 should there be such a thing as petrol in 2040.

Funnily enough I was asking a friend of mine some questions re a certain Lupin Blue RS that is coming into a certain dealer - I really fancy an R1200R but....

hopefully they will wash it for you and fit some new tyres. Not seen a sponge for some time as Sytner didn't wash it when it was serviced last year. Cotswold always felt sorry for it and gave it a bath after a service or MOT.

After I "mislaid" one of my bikes staying overnight in Scarborough, Ageas declined to cover its replacement. The only option was to cancel the multi-bike policy and start a new one for rather more with Aviva.
