Hi -

I fully intend to visit this event next year. As far as I am aware the dates have not yet been released, but as soon as they are I'd like to book accommodation etc.

Please, can anyone indicate the best camp site (I think the municipal site in town was suggested??) plus any contact details?

Or did anyone find a decent, bargain B&B?

Anything else that I need to know - what's the accumulated wisdom re visiting Chimay?

Cheers,

Paul

The dates are always the same within reason; 19th july time that weekend; and it sounds like you already know the best campsite; try and string it out for a few days as the whole area is worth a look.

Yes, I have never stopped to see the Ardennes so I think it would make sense to spend a bit of time there.

Yeah, «Camping communal de Chimay» is the easiest option if you want something slightly civilised (depending on how close you are to the partying Dutch). I've always contacted them by email to reserve a space in advance. Do a search before you book next year, the email address has changed a few times. I got a nice pitch to myself this year.

There's a decent one near the town centre, but I don't know the details and I've always been happy with camping.

Some more hints about the circuit here.

Did you book to go?

Anyone else from here going this year?

I'm going again with a regular group, we rent a large house a few miles away which can accommodate about 16 with really good facilities, secure parking, large garden and huge outdoor BBQ facilities. I'm starting to get stuff ready for an early off on Friday.
