I'm probably the last to find out!
I recently bought my expensive Rukka jacket firmly in the belief that it would be made in Finland or at least somewhere in the EU.

Of course there tucked inside the jacket is the (very common now) "Made in China".

I'm sure it'll not have the same effect on most people, but it pisses me off that Rukka are charging a premium price for a product not made where I would expect it to be made.

I could have bought a jacket knowing it was Chinese for a fraction of the price.

I know that most things are made in China these days though.......

Just checked my jacket and trousers no tags showing origin. Checked my Cosmo gloves bought 2 weeks ago and yes a tiny little tag with made in China stitched in behind the main size and model tag. If I had known I would not have paid £149.99 for Chinese gear.

Aerostich!

Aerostich made by named individuals with health care and pensions in Duluth USA.

Gortex laminate for at least 20 years.

I am sure that Rukkas 5 year warranty is not all it seems. its gortex that give the warranty for just the gortex membrane.

All this stuff is expensive house much more would it cost if made in UK or any whare in Europe ? Whare are I phones made? Ect ect ect ect ect ...... JJH

A long as the quality is obstensibly the same why would a manufacturer manufacture goods anywhere other than the cheapest place they can get them made - 'tis the way of the world whether you like it or not.

As well as their clothing you may want to also check out where WBM get a lot of their parts manufactured/assembled :D

Not sure you are correct here . My Armax jacket was replaced was replaced after 41/2 years due to the main zip pull coming loose .

Cheers

Your made in China jacket will soon be made in Vietnam or Cambodia as those are now lower cost than China.

It is commercial reality that assembly is in the lowest cost territory.

Rukka are price leaders but do exchange faulty garments and use the highest performance materials........Outlast temperature regulation does work until it gets over 30c and the latest bonded Goretex is better unless in a humid climate..........Rukka is a take it or leave it kinda Brand..........very waterproof.......unless under water.....

Then you should have returned it, requested your money back as you have been 'ripped off' (UKGSer's favourite phrase, followed closely by 'premium price' and bought the cheaper jacket with the refund.

Then, instead of moaning on UKGSer (many of whose members either would never buy a Rukka or would love to) you should write to Rukka in Finland, explaining your disappointment, frustration and ultimately your disgust at their underhand business practices which border on fraud. ...yup they are a multi-brand fashion house, as comfortable making women's blouses as they are rufty-tufty (but ever so pissed off) bikers' gear.

Don't worry though, it could have been made in Romania, as much in the EU (which you obviously value highly) as Finland.

Rukka has certainly gone downhill in quality terms in recent years

Good job it has a 5 year guarantee, because a few I know wearing it, have had to use it a few times

My original Rukka has made in Finland labels and it's still perfect
