My bike came with the chrome exhaust, I hate it, I don't want to spend a fortune on an Akroprovic exhaust nor do I want to sell the chrome one, it can go back on to sell I, so what are the other options? Bike is 2012 GSA.

Have the OEM chrome one media blasted to remove the chrome and then have it ceramic coated - can be black, gray, etc.

Best option is to put it back on and just ride. You can not see it while riding, if its not badly scuffed or damaged during your ownership it will have no effect on resale, it has no effect on performance and weighs no more than the bare stainless pipe,what is your problem with it?
Cleaning it, and I don't think it suits he bike as well as brushed metal look.

As this is the 1200 section, how about vinyl wrap 
I hope you didn't decide it doesn't suit it before you bought it and that it's a recent decision instead. It saves asking the obvious question.

If you don't Want to buy an aftermarket exhaust and you dont want to sell the chrome one you might have to keep it! Doh!
Keihan stainless headers about £340
Keep your chrome ones on the shelf and when you sell the bike, put them back on and sell the Keihans for about £200. HTHDeleted account 211025001

I think the man was asking you lot to tell him about other (cheaper) cans. Saves him having to Google it you know.
His problem- does not like chrome-does not want/afford to fit expensive replacement.
Solution (1)- fit cheaper can or just put up with the chrome one.
Solution (2) keep posting on here-see if we can reach a number of pages record

Chrome finish was an option, so there are unchromed original bmw cans out there for a 21012 twin cam, if you don't mind a few dings and dents I think I have a perfectly usable one in the garage

Defiantly interested. Some pedantic people on here isn't there. Why go searching google for hours on end looking at nice cans then find its shit when I can ask on here and be told the best option. Google and eBay turned out loads but either look chavvy or so far from oem it should be on a race bike.

It's a 2012 bike so I am guessing it was bought new by the OP. If that was the case then it's more simple than that , don't buy a bike you don't think something looks right on. The brushed/satin finish can would have been the one to have had and not the 'optional' chrome can, wouldn't it?

Nope not brand new, so no option about the exhaust. And I new I could change it after. No advice on a nice exhaust?
No, I'm happy with the satin finish on mine.
As an afterthought you might like a Beowulf though! It may be worth checking the fitment for a '12 MY.

Sarg. Has given you a decent suggestion. Over and above that Remus and BOS are two other reasonably priced systems that work well on the GS and are good quality.
If its just looks and therefore Just headers that are wanted? Then why not replace with stainless OEM, cheap as chips 2nd hand as loads of people junk them for aftermarket ones.
TBH there is so much info here on exhausts and a quick 10min search will turn up all the info you need.

I think the OP is on about the headers which were available in Chrome for the avid sunday afternoon polishers amongst us. I am definately not part of that group
The great thing about stainless headers is they will clean up pretty nicely if that is your bag. My Keihans are 6 years old and even though they only get cleaned once a year, they come up pretty well. I'll be doing them in the spring with some solvol and wire wool
