Bumble Bee,

the decision is taken for 99%, it wil be a greymetal. GSA.

I'll keep you posted (of course) on my progress.

Thx for all you valuable advice, I really appreciate it.

I knew you would come to your senses :D

That'll make two of these in a 5 km radius then :thumb

You can get that RT when you're 20 years older!

MIGsel,

I always come to my senses :goof , it only takes some time.

Now the wait begins for the next employee who gets my MINI.

So if you know any good Java-programmers (that want to ride a MINI) gimme a shout :D

The GS (A) has always been a dreambike for me (being a rally-raid/Dakar - fan), so I will go for it...now options and accesoires... oh well enough time (and forums) for that...

Steve,

I think he got worried about his hair being ruffled without that Barndoor to keep things in place:(

One day........................;)

I thought you were supposed to be getting another GS?

What happened to change your mind?

It's a long story...........12 yr old son decides than coming to live with dad is a good idea, after 10 years with his mum, I don't blame him.........:D

Some things had to give & the second 'bike was one of 'em.....

Hey CC..........you know I've gotta better wig than you.......:upyou

Cleaning not required

Hang on here....

If its a leased bike, you never ever ever need to clean it, so what's the problem.

They'll give it a clean every service for you anyway.

Hey what can I say, just trying to teach some dutch to someone who asks for it. Aren't we Belgians helpfull?:D

BTW Gecko, nice dictionary you have there, luckily I think most of the terms weren't understood by the non-dutch speaking :p :p :p

I was getting them ready for the GS event in Hamme in June :D :D

"Dat voorspelt niet veel goeds."

"That doesn't predict any good."

Dutchman

Where did you get that front mudguard for protecting your engine ?

Steady Eddie

Dutchman

Dutchman,
Thanks for the info . [ I may be looking to buy an RT ]

Steady Eddie

I only read all of this thread to find out what topic was coming up next. Very odd.

Daver I dont supposed it occurred to you that if you ask advice about GS bikes here you wont get exactly impartial advice?!

Hey Spanish Bob,

yes, it's a strange thread but what do you expect from a guy who loves the looks of a GS? :blckeye

I know the advice here is a bit "biased" but I knew that, BTW others (fe Dutchman) also provided a less biased POV. So no problem with that. :D

You mean you are supposed to clean them????

What's up UK, my first post.....

Hey, I bought my GS they told me the name of the game was:
HE WITH THE MOST CRAP STUCK TO HIS RIDE WINS!
I have been living up to that expectation so far....:beerjug:

As for my RT, I wash it regularly with PROTECT ALL and it's a fairly easy job. All the tupperware actually makes it easier to clean and keep a lot of stuff off the engine. I used water to wash it ONCE...... and it hosed my ABS. Be gentle with the hose.....no, I mean REALLY gentle!

Mine is silver, 12,000 MILES and no noticable nicks:D

UPDATE
Blue/white R1150GS ordered and will arrive on 08 august.

Due to some delivery problems I switched my spec from black engine to the standard grey one (and hopefully will show dirt less then the black finish).

The lids (BMW system-sidecases with big lids and topcase) will be painted in Pacific blue.

Further options:

BMW alarm
white indicator lenses
Adventure screen
heated grips
handprotectors
Integral ABS

aftermarket parts in pipeline:
front and rear extenda (Wunderlich)
oilcooler-grill (Wunderlich)
blue sidepanels (Touratech)
and much more.....

Also want to say thanks to all of you who have helped me with their valuable advice. :thumb :thumb :thumb
I really appreciate it, guys.

CU soon

I'm sorry.......

but THIS THREAD IS BOLLOX.

FFS get the bike and clean it or dont clean it!

Someone will be asking whether or not to purchase Halford's very own Sponge pack - with free screen wash - for £3.99 or a multi-buy pack of cleaning cloth in various colours from 'kin Tom's DIY Place. Oh, and what will the pros and cons be for each on a Sunday morning listening to John Peel or John Walker before or after taking the dog out for a walk.
