Clocks stolen...

Hope ya get ya light sorted soon - thats a bugger!

All sorted - I'd damaged the side light bulb when I removed the lights so a £1 replacement bulb cleared the error message.

What is the point of the small side light? Does anyone actually leave it on when they park? It's not exactly bright enough to stop someone driving into a parked up bike is it?

Side lights are a legal requirement going back to the days when cars had headlights that would flatten the battery so little side lights (early marker lights) were used in town. Not needed today with dim dip and LED marker lights, but still required by the regs.

Deffo sounds a bit dodgey. Unknown mileage, being described with poor grammar and a first time ebayer? Sounds like its been stolen to me.

So why don't we as a group of people with a similar interest look into this a bit more then?

Who's near Woodford Green then that can pop and have a look - if it's iffy just get the rozzers on em..

The Touratech covers that fit over the support frame look handy but I cant tell if they actually give any anti theft benefit.

They do...prevent to a large degree wandering hands and tools.

I fitted a front cover too, mainly to put some shade on the clocks, the screen with the sun shining through acted as a prism/magnifying glass which left a couple of scorch marks on the top rim of the clock casing - theres bound to be more damage from the sun than thefts :rob

Right. A happy ending to the saga of BMW not being able to supply a new set of clocks. They have been on back order since October 2013, and still no delivery date available nearly 6 months later.

A deal has been done on a new GSA with my bike going in as PX. After escalation with BMW HQ on my part, a suitable contribution from the Safe at BMW HQ has been secured. Pick it up next week

Not going to reveal what the contribution is in public but lets just say, I'm OK with it. Just goes to show, you need to jump up and down on HQ a bit, turn the screws, threaten to cancel order for new bike, throw toys out of the pram etc. You eventually get there. Happy days. But an irritating position to have to dig myself out of.

So is this a good way to acquire a decent discount off a new WC GSA? :augie

And so you have to purchase a new bike if clocks are stolen because there's no spares available - I'm now tempted to put a deposit down on a new bike as an insurance.
