UK again Pah!..
My clutch bite point seems to be virtually at no lever - It will disengage with under 10mm end lever movement (Not a lot!) Now as the bike has under 1500 miles on it and I am normally very gentle with clutches and I am hoping it is nothing serious so is it possible to adjust the bite point?

Drain a small amount out of your clutch reservoir. As the clutch starts to wear the fluid in the reservoir goes up.

Would the resevoir level make any difference? I thought it was down to what was behind the piston but I will check it lunch time.

Yup, as the clutch wears so the level in the reservoir will rise. Eventually, it is possible to end up with no head space in the reservoir, leading to clutch slip.

1500 miles shouldn't cause that to happen so I'm guessing that the reservoir was overfilled to start with and the clutch bedding in has been enough to shift the bite point :nenau

Just spoke to my B*W dealer and they said bring it in........

Bugger - the curse of the 1200's

Guys you could be onto something here - there is no air gap in the resevoir, however I cannot get the bloody cap off to really check.

So it is stilsons out tonight :)

have a look at your front hand cover if it has slakened and rotated by only a few degrees it stops the clutch lever coming out fully and it can cause premature clutch slip i rode like this for only a few miles this then it cost 650 for a new clutch

this could be put on the what to watch warning section to let more members know

Just underneath the cap on both sides of the reservoir are 2 small clips that you push in as you turn the cap
Yup - found them when I got home :thumb

It is full right to the very top so I am about to drain a bit of fluid off and give it a try.

Many thanks for your help.

S'funny but I actually noticed the bite point whilst filtering last night. Removing the fluid did resolve the issue however it seemed to take a couple of hundred miles to really move the bite point :nenau

Many thanks Guys.
