where did my clutch fluid go?
i posted a threiad here about losing my clutch with no warning at less than 27K kilometers.....most said that it could be the slave cylinder....
anyway i took the gs to bmw and the mechanic just bled the clutch and he said that its empty....so where did my clutch fluid went to....he said theres no leak since the system presurises....any explanation about this guys?
i worried that a bigger problem is hiding and its just waiting to pop its ugly head....

Mandon,

I suspect you'll find that the slave cylinder is leaking along the pushrod tunnel when the bike is in use.

I had something similar with my 1150GSA. I changed the fluid, bled the clutch and it looked fine - but only lasted a few miles (less than 100). Im my case it was air getting in rather than fluid getting out - but it pressurised OK when the fluid was changed.

I had to put a new slave cylinder in and its been OK since.

If your fluid has gone - it must have escaped from somewhere, its unlikely to have evaporated - even in your location :D

oh yes i was really happy riding the bike....and yes the same thing happened...the clutch is gone again....ive been telling the bmw mechanic about the slave cylinder and he said that theres no leak since its presurises...now the gs is sitting in the garage again.....
