The reason I ask is I was having a look over the bike today and upon checking the fluid level noticed that's its as black as feck, and I don't know why that should be, contamination off the rubber in the reservoir ? So im thinking im going flush it out and replace ALL the fluid in the system. Problem is I cant tell what colour it was originally although I think it was yellow.

It is made of the tears from a Virgin in Wigan; as there are so few it is why it cost's so much.

I thought it was sort of a purplish colour, although I maybe mistaken.

I used some Mountain bike brake fluid from the local car and bike care shop. There are different colours and the colour does mean something but I can't remember or be bothered to look it up again. FWIW the stuff I used is green and seems to work just fine.

Whatever you use, be it LHM+, Magura Royal Blood (blue not red) or Vitamol V10, be sure to flush out all old fluid when changing. Many mineral fluids are incompatible, even from the same brand maker.

Fill the reservoir to the MINIMUM mark. As the clutch friction plate wears, the fluid level will rise.

Does it mix Bendy or do you have to drain and refill?

Unless its the same stuff you use to top up id be changing it all and do a complete replacement that's what im going to do.
I've just bought the LHM+ as listed above, made by Total so should be good stuff.
