and this as well...
I may need to replace my 'Y' piece with a collector box.
Do they have any silencing properties? My Gletter-style silencer is a touch on the loud side, so if I could make it a bit quieter plus solve my Migstand issues plus cure the engine dying at high speed all by fitting a collector box then it's got to be worth it.

When I replaced the standard collector box on the 100PD with a y piece there was a definite increase in the exhaust note so IMPO the box has a silencing property over the Y piece.

Have to say though it was not a massive difference.

Of course you could ditch the Gletter :augie

If I remember correctly from when I replaced mine a couple of years ago . .

The standard collector box is just an empty box with three tubes attached.

Its not like the catalyser you find on oilheads which have muffling properties.

So it probably won't make much difference.

The collector box is a massive amount quieter than a Y piece in my experience

Lilith had one for sale when Thunder was looking for one the other week. I don't think it was "Blingy" enough for our man because he bought my Y piece. Send her a PM.

I removed the 'Y' piece from my 100 on Saturday and welded up the collector
box pipes and the back of the zorst too:eek: all this to make sure the Migstand does not touch the pipes. The bike makes a little less noise now:D
have not noticed any performance loss, the collector is shot so a new system will be needed soon. When fitting the old collector i noticed the front pipe are both on the way out the collector as said is like a net curtain abd the wheel side of the zorst is patched on a patch now, so not much more life left in it..
:tears Can't get used to the vibes on this bike thou, still i will give it another cuple-a hundred miles to see if i get used to it or not.....:augie if not she goes....:rob

Ow! what this was leading up to is::: the Migstand is bloody great...thanks for all the effort you have put into it Micheal...
