Has anyone out there tried Continental 'escape' tyres on their GS?, i can't find any info or tests on them, they do appear to be a lot cheaper than the more common fitments like metzeler, michelin, etc.

Never heard of that one, tried Conti TCK's, great fun on and off road but very limited life expectancy - the tyres and mine if I kept behaving like the hooligan they tempting me to be......

Contintal have experienced big problems with this tyre. It's been released and recalled a few times due to problems with handling, wear, grip and performance issues. Shame cause it's at a good price if they can sort it out.

apparently this rubber is not actually available - i am sure however that motobins have these tyres listed in their current catalogue

Discussing these elsewhere I just noticed that they now do appear in a GS fitment on the UK Continental site. I'm pretty certain they didnt before.

Looks like a fault on the Conti website.
I went into the tyre specifier and selected 1150GS and the Escape came up as a recommended fitment but the tyre range buton is kaput

About two years ago I rode about 150miles on an R100GS fitted with them on wet roads. I wasn't particularly impressed, to me they felt 'skittish', they did not inspire me with confidence. IMHO Metzler Tourances feel better.

We used Continental Escapes (and TKC's) on our trip... nothing but praise for them. Great mileage, good grip

UK site is still playing up on range, but 150/70/17 IS listed as a fitment there and was there a couple of days ago

Hi All , I have been using escapes on my 650gs for the last 7000 miles ,I have used the bike 2up,loaded and in all weathers uncluding right through the winter, grip wise there have been no problems at 7000 miles they still have about 2mm of tread left. As a comparison Claires 650gs has tourances fitted and I dont find them as confidence inspiring,and I would recommend themas an alternative to tourances.

I do have these fitted to my 650 Dakar and recon they are as good as the tourance. Tried to get them ayear ago for the R100gs and although they could be obtained in tubed form, I could not get tubeless. I contacted Conti as the importers said they could not get them and Conti replied that it was the suppliers fault. Pissed off and bought Tourances. I had Conti Road Attacks on a K1200RS and they were great. In my view, good tyres at a good price if you can get them.

Anyone using these tyres now? Is this good tyre for drivning 50/50 garvel/tarmac.
