Cost To Change

But not as much value for money had you been second and last! :D

That'll be me then :clap

I love my '09 GSA, in fact I can't imagine anything I'd like more. To me this bike is as close to perfect as I'll get.

It's comfy, has a huge tank range, will do everything I'm capable of asking from it and it's mine :cool

I don't want more power or to own the latest model, I'm just well chuffed with what I've got.:D

My brother in-law (a GS rider) asked me if there was anything I'd change about the bike and the only thing I could think of was the weight :blast but if that's all that's wrong about a bike then there's not much to complain about really.

I can't believe anyone things the dealer is making fortunes here. There is a trade price for everything and thats all he will give you now matter what your bike is like. He's probably not making a kings ransom on the new one and bear in mind he has loads of costs like prep, service, warranty, overheads, stocking charges etc on the p/x before he sells it.

They will give you the best deal they can and for a lot of people it's acceptable and easy.

We need dealers to be there for all sorts of reasons so they have to make money to survive so cut them a little slack. I've run truck dealerships and despite what people think, making good money in the motor trade is very difficult.

So what in reality, option wise has a 12TE LC, got that your original 12GS hasn't

At a guess I would say SatNav prep and maybe LED lights and headlamp stuff and not a lot else

So that is maybe the RRP cost difference between the 2 bikes and is it worth £4k?

Sat nav thingy

Full luggage

Led lights

Better suspension system

Plus I get full adventure luggage adventure screen sargent seats and a few other bits and bobs to sell.

If your current bike was fine 12 months ago what has changed?

The best method IMHO is always buy a two or three year bike from a bmw dealer. Bike will come with 12 months warranty, less hit on depreciation. You will he supporting the dealer network.

2 years ago I purchased my 2008 1200gs for 8500 from my dealer. In 3 years time I hope to get a reasonable part x against a 3 year wc

That is the way I try to look it. If it was ok yesterday why is not today? Same applies to my TV, laptop, phone, car. I admit there comes a point when your old stuff is just, well, old. And too old. But I don't see the WC as being a big enough deal to make my perfectly good bike obsolete overnight.

Of course if you have loadsamoney then I guess you just go ahead.

Mind up

I will wait till all the people with money have bought there's. fare play to them. But then sales will drop and there will be better deals out there. Or BMW will bring another and another new model out. But we will see.

I have only recently bought my 08 GSA so in no rush to change. Things I would fix -
Slightly heavy handling but I suspect that's part down to the Maxxis dual sports tyres.
Vibration through the bars. But still working on that & will get it sorted.
Seat height but have that in hand with a wanted advert.
Anything else? Nothing a lottery win won't fix.
