Cracked Speedo - Help ?

I have been a total numpty and cracked the "glass" cover the speedo on my late 2005 1200GS. It is about 15 mm long and barely visible - until you know it is there !

Does anyone know of any product that can make an effective repair to prevent moisture getting in ?

Failing a repair, I see from the A&S Cycles on-line parts fiches that a new front cover can be bought as a separate item, but it is not clear if the clear plastic "windows" are a part of the front cover or the instruments themselves. Any one know ?

If the crack cannot be repaired and the clear plastics are not part of the separately available front cover, then I am looking at a new ( second-hand) set of clocks.

I have seen a few sets available, but I am unsure of compatibility. The pater 2006 on clocks have a different display to my late 2005 clocks. Are these interchangeable? Does the ZFE need to be reprogrammed after fitting a different set of clocks?

Any thoughts from the collective consciousness greatly appreciated ...

Dip a toothpick in Acetone or Formaldehyde & attempt to wick it into the crack.... Failing that, it looks like a possible replacement.....

Why not pop into your local BMW Motorrad dealer and ask them for advice re: a new glass or new cover for the instruments?

They have access to the parts fiche on computer and can tell you the part number and price.

The parts fiche is not clear whether the glass is part of the front cover, or the instruments it covers; and, the glass is deifnitely not shown as a separate part.

Unfortunately I am 60 miles form my nearest dealer and have been spending the last few days sailing, also the next few, from a port in the opposite direction, so thought I would try the friendly question here....

Still not obvious whether the glass is part of the front cover or not. At £80 I hope it is !

I wonder if that self adhesive plastic I think you can get for broken windows would work, cut to size and over all the glass? Or that clear sheet you can buy to protect paintwork on bikes.
