At the risk of being lambasted for asking such a question, I have weighed up the odds and my curiosity needs to be satiated.

Why is the cylinder protection bar on the GSA closer to the cylinder guard on the left hand side (as you sit on the bike) than on the right?

its not the bar thats closer its the cylinder and barrel and head due to the boxer engine, the connecting rods have to be offset.

The same reason the cylinder is further away on the other side, the whole engine is pissed on mine as well, will try a warranty claim and see if they can line them back up again.
