But can you do Morocco on a tourer ?

Thinking about next years holiday and was thinking about Morocco, but I have an RT, not a GS. What are the roads like, is fuel easily obtained and all the other questions that need asking by an experienced Euro tripper, but not rode further afield (except the Negev desert on a Harley).

Yes you'll have no problem on any bike, plenty of fuel stations and the roads are generally very well surfaced.

Yep tourer would be good. Tarmac is often better than the uk, or Gloucestershire at least. Petrol as common as here.

I took a tour to Morocco about eight years ago and one of the punters was on a Yamaha R1.

The roads are often better than here in the UK. But don't be surprised if when you come to some road works, the tar is not there. They dig up the entire road surface on both sides of the road, sometimes just carving a temporary "road" through the scrub to get round the works.

As above..just a little tip...you'll often see a large rock at the side of the odd road or a quarter in towards the centre...this is the same as a traffic cone warning you that e.g.usually the road has subsided a little and there'll be the odd hole or where there's a missing manhole cover etc. If you're lucky they might even be painted white lol.

Be aware that on popular mountain roads particularly,if it's been raining, there's a more than a good chance the roads will be slippy due the surface being well polished with the volume of traffic the roads see.

Other than that no problem going on any moto.

:)
