You may need to be a little clearer with what it is you're asking there mate:confused:

If you're asking, if you only have a centre stand, will it be a problem offroad, then the answer is yes.

Or if you have both and your asking, will it be a problem, the answer is no.:)

I had the Wunderlich centre stand on my Dakar and it wasn't a problem on the rough, cos I aint that good in the rough ... but it did deck out going round der Nürburgring and with any spirited cornering it will hamper your style. The curved legs however were good for soft sand and grass and the bike stable.

The TT stand has pointy legs and so not so secure in the sand and grass, but less inclined to deck out on the road

There ... does that help my friend?

Dave, try and get hold of some crash bars to protect the plastics and rad, they're quite a heavy bike offroad and go down with a wallop......don't ask:blast:D

You must be very young ... I've never ever looked forward to falling off :blast

Were you like this once Tim?

Drop MikeTR a PM, he recently did one for his cracking 650 Dak. He modified one and did it himself -- and did a brilliant job.

With me, falling off is inevitable so always look forward to being able to walk without a limp at the end of a day.....unlike today:mad:

Youth is not a period of your life Dave ... but rather a state of mind :thumb

Oh yeah ... you're gonna fall off, but as you get older you don't bounce as well :rob

What was that you just said Tim :blast

Enjoy ....

I had the Wunderlich centre stand on my Dakar .........

The TT stand .......

Dave,

you should also consider the F650GS BMW stand - it will need extending obviously, but at least you know mounting points etc will fit.

Where to grip!?!

I have a centre stand on my 04 Dakar (came with the bike), you should have no worries about it catching on anything.

When I was starting I found it difficult to get a good grip with my right hand. But it's all about practise and technique. Get a friend to help hold bike so you can get a comfortable place to hold onto. You don't wanns throw your back out when rocking it up onto the centre stand or drop it:blast.

It all depends on your height, but I usually grip onto the top bar of the pillion foot peg. Be careful though....it's really close to the exhaust and you don't wanna burn through your gloves or burn your hand off:blast.
