sorry my bad its the road bridge i have down. but i guess you would spot it from there....

It's actually not visible from the bridge..... I was there a few weeks ago and I too had your original 'bridge' waypoint as the dam

Sorpesee is a lovely place for an overnight stop. Nice restaurants and bars on the side of the dam.

+1 I'd also recommend the Hotel Palantino. It's a bit cheaper as it's not on the side of the reservoir, but the rooms are really nice and the Thai restaurant is very good
