Hi

Going down to Dartmoor in two weeks, and would like to do a bit of lite off road. I have brought an OS Explorer map, and would just like to check a few things, if anyone can help.

The Two Moors way... can this be ridden. It is marked as a recreational route, with the green diamonds.

Anybody

Thanks:) :) :) :)

I believe that the tracks to the North of the moor around Oakhampton camp are ok to ride and there are about 5 or 6 BOATS sort of SE of the A30 on the OS map that are legal, never done them though.
I ride around Exmoor where all the RUPPS are now Restricted byways but no ones said anything yet.
Could ride abit further and go to the Lands End weekend for some Cornish off roading.

You need to speak to Proff, he might know, being a font of all things knowledgeable :augie

There are very few 'off road' tracks within the Dartmoor National Park and the Rangers chase and prosecute those who get it wrong. The Two Moors Way goes across the moor and IS NOT allowed. There are some road bits.

There is some green laning around the South Hams (South of D/M).

give the guys in the office a shout for the definative, ive ridden around up there but then ive had a few rollockings.
They are great if you want to know where you cant go.
There are offroaders up there and the office might put you in touch.www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk
All the best
