Dash display - Service due - reset

Had my 2010 1200GSA serviced at a non BMW workshop.
How do I reset the service interval?
(The "service" due is displaying)

You can reset it with a GS-911 tool.
Em - how did the 'non-BMW workshop' complete the service without such a device? As in checking for any fault codes? 'Parking' the idle stepper motors to get the throttle bodies balanced?

Service due notification

The mechanic has serviced my 1150 and pre twin cam 1200 with no probs - Don't know what they did but she runs even better now.
