Just took my old Datatool System 4 Alarm and immobiliser of my 1150 because it was playing up. Looking at replacing it with another movement alarm, but not an immobiliser. Found the new Datatool Evo, only £95 and it looks like an easy fit straight to the battery. Anybody used them or knows anything about them? Or anybody know of anythig similar?

I’m no expert on after market alarms, but you might find that they tend to be more trouble than worth. Probably not much of a deterrent either. They usually have an encapsulated battery buried in them which deteriorates over time making the alarm useless and requiring replacement.
Still, don’t let that stop you. Crack on! You could become the authority on Datatool Evo alarms.

take the permanent power from the starter motor , not the battery.
I’m not sure of your logic there.
The Starter motor positive is connected directly to the Battery positive.
Why??
