After having my tracker replaced my bike still needed trickle charging when garaged and would struggle to start sometimes, especially when hot (see my “Big pile of dogshit” thread in the 1250 section).
I fitted a Motobatt Hybrid battery and instantly my bike is very much improved, with permanently good voltage much higher than before (about 12.7v versus 11.6v) and the CTEK always instantly shows green if connected and no more battery woes.
I suspect the high standing voltage from the new battery stops the canbus staying open via the tracker. Perhaps the canbus seeing the battery voltage reduced and an accessory attached “thinks” it is connected to a trickle (charger even if it isn’t) and keeps things live instead of shutting down?
