Recently purchased a new 1200 GSA from Coopers @ T Wells. wanted a factory fited BMW alarm but could get one as did not want to wait too long for delivery of bike but was sold one as part of deal that was fitted by the dealer on bike build.
My problem is that it is not wired to battery and appears to not work properly once the Cambus system has closed evrything down.
I questioned why I could not deactivate it with my remote key fob and was told that you have to deactivate it by turning on igmition ? then why a remote fob ?
Also if I set the alarm immediately after turning on ignition, then wait about five minutes I am able to rock and roll the bike with no reaction from the alarm.
Please someone tell me what should happen , is this all correct. I suspect not or am I going mad ?

Sounds like they wired it up wrong.

My OE alarm switches on and off with the fob, regardless of how long the ignition has been off.

:)

Thanks Mr K
I may be getting old but I am not going mad afterall.
I will get on to them and get it sorted.

Alarming

Do the best thing have it remopved you'll get nothing buit agro alarms are just a painful waste of time.

Mine also works well. I understand the wiring is already present so OE alarm plugs straight into bike. Dealer then needs to update software so it is recognised by ZFE (central vehicle electronics)

No one takes that much notice of alarms, buy a big lock and a good steel rope. :thumb
