Dealer mileage during service

Sounds like BS as they always tie a name tag to the key so they know which key fits what bike so the sales person will have known it wasn’t the demo bike.
I have to agree but not sure what else I could do but accept there explanation

Mmmm

From my experience this just can't happen

Demo keys would be in a key safe in the Sales Office and customers keys would be retained, in a different key safe, in another part of the building known as Service Department.

Plus the key tags (advising registration & model) would be a different colour/type just so this kind of thing can never happen.

A salesperson took my bike home on Friday and Saturday by mistake instead of the identical demo bike, plus 5 miles was on road test.
Allegedly....
I have been compensated to my satisfaction.
Still not happy though to be honest but what else can I do,I've accepted the apology, time to move on.
I've gone over the bike with a fine tooth comb inc the tyres ,no sign of any damage or wear.
Bingo!!! Just as I thought it would be the case.

No I guess there isn’t much else you can do and of course you will never know if he thrashed the guts out of it or not, and as has been said above; you could get a nasty letter in the post at some point.
All you can really do is forget about it and move on, especially as you’ve had some compo, good luck.

Do you believe that?

Incidentally, would they have ‘owned up’ to the extra 50 miles …if you hadn’t alerted them to it?

Did they phone you on the Monday…to apologise? Or did you have to phone them ?

Wasn’t last Friday really wet?

Is your bike dirtier than if it was collected and returned in the van, as initially agreed ?

Bingo
The truth comes out👍
That’s the procedure

Mmm did anyone have a test ride on a S1000R last week?
If a punters bike can get mixed up with a demo it can work both ways.

I find it highly unlikely and told them that and I had to phone them.
As I mentioned earlier the wheels were dirtier but probably what you’d expect from a short road test in rainy conditions,I also request my bikes not to be washed as I prefer to clean my bikes so wasn't too surprised.
Like I've said I have to accept there explanation and move on,I could contact Vertu and Motorrad uk but I really can't be arsed after accepting the compo and I still think it's beneficial to maintain a good relationship with the dealer👍
