Hi all

I have a cansmart gen 1 on my BMW R1250GS. I'm running DM 2.0 spotlights, additional rear brake light and mini sound bomb horn. Been running this set up for about 2 years on the bike without issue. Now all of a sudden the spotlights will not come on with ignition or on dipped beam. To switch the spotlights on/off you twist the toggle wheel. When i do this i get one pulse of the lights then nothing. If i flash the lights they work. If i flick them onto full beam they come on and if i sound the horn they strobe. Basically they are working as they should be except that they don't come on with the ignition. I have updated the cansmart and when i check with the app manager all appears fine.

I have of late been having a bit of a problem trying to rest my trip recorder. It usually take a couple of fairly long twist and holds of the toggle wheel to get it to reset. Unsure if this is what has caused the problem with the spotlights.

Any thoughts on what the problem maybe?

TIA

Dario

switch ignition on, then press the indicator toggle IN and hold it there. The spots should come on. They should then come on after ignition off/ on as you had before. The brightness should be adjustable by using the wonder wheel

I tried this before and it did not work. When i do this it switched off the entire system as indicated by the additional rear brake light turning off. When i press it again the brake light comes back on but not the spotlights. Worth another try tonight though.

Why don't you try to connect it to your computer and with Denali siftware try to see what's going on?

Could it be as simple as a poor connection somewhere. Clean them all and try again.

I had something similar on my EzCan 2 the other week, where a couple of accessories just simply stopped working (well one did the other was random). What I did was swap the two cables over and the connected my PC and reset the 2 tails the other way around and they've both worked fine ever since. WHy it did it originally I don't know, nor why swapping them over worked (as I'd checked connections etc beforehand), but it did.

Thanks Haweye, i'll give this a try

Check your connections in particular your front lights split them and WD 40 to disperse any water . I found one of my lights stopped working after riding through heavy rain a couple months ago and did this , no problem since
