Ok had the ten for a couple of months and for what it is it's great for me however can't really do motorways unless purrrfect weather and I have to sometimes not my choice it's a time thing so if a long travel I'm resorting to the car where really I want another 1200 GSA or rt for that?
Secondly want to do some more green laning and off road so as I have just sold my ktm was thinking of using the money to get the ten ready for that Ive had a little chat with timpo as he lane an 08 for a while and all looks ok on that front!
My dilemma is as the ten is only 4 months old what will I loose by laning it would I be better off spending my I'll gotten gains on another off road bike only and get a GSA again or keep the cash and get the ten ready for both options?
Any thoughts on the ten off road and what apart from the usual protection items and knobblies you'd recommend:thumb

nice idea that 690 is very nice done the blackbird thing and not so keen and cant afford both of those unless you want to sell me one for buttons:beer:

The Tenere looks a good alrounder but as such it is a compromise at both ends of the spectrum ie an OK offroader and an OK road bike but not really good at either. You've already said you are missing out on road riding because the Tenere doesn't suit so to me there is your answer.
Regarding how much you will lose going offroad with the Tenere-whenever a bike gets taken offroad it gets abused in some way (compared to how most bikes get treated) and often needs repairs which cost money. Then ask yourself would you pay top dollar for a bike that has battle scars from being offroaded-no.
Lots of us have searched for the ultimate 'transformer' bike but it doesn't exist so the answer is two bikes or 3 or 4:thumb.

Just an observation.. would the 800GS not fit the bill of good on the road, and off :blast

Don't have either (tenere or 800 ), but just from other posts / articles

Happy hunting :)
