Disappointing iPod volume

EUPOD is great. But you need to re-apply it after avery sync (though it only takes about 5 secs to run).

I use the Autocom "extra-loud" speakers. They will say till their are blue in the face that "you cant listen to music with them sir". Just say yes I completely agree, just send me some dammit. They are excellent - slightly thicker than the standard ones, but work really well with those squidgy green foam earplugs. DO NOT use them without earplugs in!!!!

About £35 I think.

It seems sorted now

OK it all seems plenty loud now (although that is just standing in the garage). So what have I done?

1. I ran the euPod patch. This seemed to reload the entire iPod (which takes a loooong time on a 60 gb iPod!). On testing it certainly seemed to have increased the volume, but not enough for me.

2. I reset the volumes in iTunes to +80%. This again reloaded the entire iPod (see above for frustration level!), and then found the 'Sound check' option in the 'Settings' menu on the iPod. This seems to have given me a decent level of volume. I didn't re-run the euPod patch after loading so I don't know whether this is still in effect or not.

3. I have ordered a Boosteroo which you can get via Froogle for £15.95. They have promissed to deliver in two working days so I'll let you know.

Thanks to all for the suggestions :beerjug:

Have a look at this.

I have one and it is a brilliant piece of kit. Gary, the guy who makes them in Canada is really helpful. They cost about £35 delivered and boost the volume of up to three sound sources. It also improves sound quality. It is bike powered (12v) and you also get a volume control knob that you can mount anywhere. What more could you want?

I'll echo that.
Gary is very helpful and even has an archive of who bought what in which country.
The BIG advantage is the ability to turn the volume DOWN as well as up. :thumb2 A rotary knob on the dash, all wired and ready to go when you get it. Bike powered too, no battery probs ( exept GS 1200 riders :hide )
Great for those "can you tell me where the STD clinic is please?" moments when you might not want to shout.:D
