Doc does Dusseldorf and a German wedding

Noooooo, not the big glass! So near and yet so far:ROFLMAO:

"Altbier is traditionally served in small 0.2L or 0.25L glasses to ensure the beer stays cold, fresh, and carbonated from the first sip to the last.
Because Altbier is a delicate, crisp, top-fermented German ale that undergoes cold-conditioning (lagering), its carbonation and subtle flavor balance degrade quickly if left sitting in a large glass."

what a load of pretentious tosh, bit like those Newcastle Brown drinkers insisting on a Wellington glass and only pouring in quarter of a pint at a time

how long do you think half a litre stays in Doc's glass?

I would guess the bottom half litre stays in slightly longer than the top half litre 🍺🍺😂😂. Not a lot longer mind.

.2L is a good system as is the "deckel" method for tallying up the bill at the end of the night.

Always have a fresh beer, drift in and out of a group at a table, no double parking pints going flat as in the round system. As a Guinness drinker I have to have fresh beer as Guinness has a short enough shelf life when poured. I reckon the brown ale boys have it right.

Also the cidre pour system in north of Spain. This will blow your mind.

Listen it doesn't sit long with me that's why I'm on my third.😅

Ye will be telling me tea doesn't taste better out of a bone china cup next. And Champagne flutes? Might as well get rid of them as well! 🤷‍♂️ ;) :ROFLMAO:

Recommend going into a cider house in Asturias next time down Picos way. That is a cultural experience, they even have a waste catcher so you can try the pour yourself. Then you see the skill required.

Gary was on about the Rose 😅
Said I might like a glass or 2 😅

I like sidra (not cidre) in Asturias but that pouring method is pretentious bollocks as well. Yes, it aerates and oxidises the sidra but you can do the same by shaking the bottle. Same applies to wine. You are inducing oxidation but you do not need a poncey ritual to achieve this.

I grew up in Herefordshire ... some liked to give the 5 gallon cask sitting on the counter a bit of a shake before pouring to get a few yeasty bits in a glass, but they have no other way to get B vitamins.

Don't think about walking out of a bar without paying, the bartender might seem docile when the 'strikes' your tab on a beer mat but they can move in concert if anyone tries to not pay. I was told the barmen buy their barrel and are.then responsible.to sell and get paid.
Some memorable times in the Schumaker and other bars. Sometimes ending in close inspection in the tram lines.

@Wapping I have penned a letter to the local council regarding sticker placement.

I say you need to get a sticker onto WWappers’ Wobbly box.
Let’s make that a new aim. See if you can sticker a wobbly cnuts van on your travels. Photographic proof required. “Tagging”. It’s called…. Right ?. 🤣🤣🤣

I’m off to get some made up…..

The big wedding looms. Long time since I've been to a wedding. Plenty of time this morning as I don't get picked up until 11.20 am. Not 11.15 or 11.30. 🤣 must be a German thing.
Find a bakery first for breakfast and I'll have a wonderful round.😅
