Doc does France

Loving it Doc, Angers is a lovely city with a fabulous castle with an amazing collection of tapestries that rival that famous one in Bayeaux.
Few days at our next stop so plenty of time to look round.
Nice here though. 20230908_142406.jpg20230908_142645.jpg

After a day's riding in 32°c Doc deserves a Rose. 20230908_173419.jpg

Well head off this morning with about 180 miles to do.

Couple of gripes on Riders Rest. You have to be out through the day from 10.30pm until 4pm as they have things to do.:nenau That's a new one for us usually you can come and go as you please. And communal dining with the owners.

Yup paid good money and won't be coming back.

Doc, is there a communal room/lounge that you could sit in during the 1030-1600 kick out times ? The times wouldn't be an issue with the weather this week, but if it was crap and you'd ridden there the day before for 400 miles thru rain, you may just fancy a day off the bike, loafing about etc. I'd be mightily hacked off if I had to be 'out'

Yes there is but still had to be out. Like you said luckily weather has been good.

17 miles to go. Worst day yet for riding in 33°c on slow roads.

Is Riders Rest back on your list of ‘Top bikermate places to stop at’ or not? We seem to have two (completely divergent) opinions running, spaced a day or so apart.

Nope. As I said nice people / place. I learned to live with the communal dining thing. The out by 10.30 and not back until 4pm I didn't like. Judging by comments on here other people wouldn't like that either.

Have to keep hydrated. 20230909_162716.jpg20230909_161950.jpg20230909_161917.jpg20230909_172456.jpg
