Indeed. There is nothing wrong with a flask (or a jetboil) of tea/coffee and a pastry from the bakery. Same goes for a sandwich. Means you can find a place (in Doc’s instance a curb or a stubby wall) that suits you and to be sat enjoying the surroundings.I like Doc’s way of travelling, especially when it’s through an area you don’t know too well. Buy breakfast in a bakery, then find somewhere to stop to eat it. Buy and eat lunch the same way. It gives you great flexibility.
Sometimes, the hotel breakfast can be overrated and/or even overpriced.
I quite like to pop into a supermarket and grab a few bits. At least I know that:
A: it’ll meet my dietary requirement
B: I can make my budget go a bit further
C: I get to discover a picnic stop and enjoy my surrounding, instead of being sat for example at the cafe surrounded by 30+ people. For some latter scenario is ideal. But then we are all very different.
