Early thoughts..

Think I will be waiting a while to pass my feedback re the accelerator wire. Had atraumatic retinal detachment on Monday, eye op last night and looking very beat up and blurry today. At least a month off riding but hopefully will recover sight. Bummer.

:blast So sorry to hear that mate....what caused it to happen:eek

I hope you get it sorted soon and you recover fully:comfort

Nothing caused it this time. Had a football in the face that caused it to happen in the other eye 6 yrs ago, made full recovery. Don't let anyone tell you our NHS is rubbish; within 18 hours I had emergency surgery and 2nd consultation. Top class. Fingers crossed. Cheers.

if you keep on not washing it, it won't last till August mate. 1200s dissolve faster than aspirin...
:D

good bikes though.... usable and fun and you will enjoy the fact they are so lardy and slow (in comparison with anything over 400cc from Japan that is) that you can use 10/10 of the capabilities rather than killing yourself trying to ride your R1 at 7/10ths...

I kept mine for 3+ years until December last year and was the bike I have owned longest, rode furthest and enjoyed most out of a choice of 20.

I have now got a 1300 Honda Pan that I ve ridden twice this year for a total of 110miles, my daily scooter and was looking to buy a new VFR1200 which I ve just test ridden. Or I may flog the Hondas altogether again and get a 1150GSA for a third of the cost...

What did you make of the VFR1200?

belatedly:

It was a great bike, but too expensive. It was veering into K1300GT territory with bells and whistles, and whilst I am still having a chip on my shoulder against BMW and their shoddy engineering of late (FDrives eating themselves out every 25k miles for example), I think the K13GT is one hell of a bike..

Anyway, I ended up with a 10yo mint VFR800 for 2.5k... Will probably enhance that with (yet another) GS when the all new one is out... coupel of years...
