Alright this isnt for a gs, but its quite technical and electrickery....

Im converting this camper van ive bought off a gs'er into a race transporter / alot more comfortable campervan.

Its got this electric opening door powered by a solenoid and its just gone wrong, the control system is not powering the solenoid. Works fine with 12v shoved onto its contacts though.

Im after ripping out the old system as it was rubbish anyway and hooking up a remote door opening system that i could use off a keyfob... anyone seen anything out there that can do the job? Im after something with just 1 button, so 1 click to open, again to close. And it need to just be clicked and then engage the relay to close the unit .. which takes about 5 seconds or so.

Other thing im after is a remote start system for my xtz project. Im converting it into a sort of yze wonnabee and now its got wr400 forks in it, theres no provision for a ingition barrel. I dont want some orrible switch type thing. I want a nice keyless sytem so its still semi secure...ish. Not after using one of those horrible remote start jobbies from china for £10 either.

Anyone out there able to sort me out?

not too sure if this helps but,

I remember seeing something you could probably use for the remote control for the door, it was in Halfords and it was meant for remote windows if memory serve's correctly, this would probably be a good start for the control system as I would imagine the power a door takes will be a bit more than a window, I had a look on there website but couldn't see it, it was in the chav bling bit of Halfords.

or have you looked in Maplins they do a lot of electronic kits that may/may not be of use. ?
