Good luck.. the roads are a nightmare with tramworks. Castle Terrace/Kings Stables Rd carpark, doubt it's cheap though. Depends where you are going and for how long.
Perth....go by train.
I drove into Waverley a couple of weeks ago and it was a fakkin nightmare.

Which part of the big toon are you going to ? The car park under Dynamic Earth is pretty cheap. I'm sure you can also park on the broad pavement at the palace for nothing. Or how about Lower London Road, you can park there for nowt and take the bus into town.

There's some bike parking spaces outside Waverley train station main entrance. Well, there was last year and have been there for a number of years.
Also a number along George Street too.

Near the George hotel, parallel to Princes street, theres some bays there which are free but make sure you're properly in the bay as the misery wardens will supplement their Christmas bonus with your cash if you're not entirely within the bike area.
Sorry, something made me think you were travelling by car. If you go on the the City of Edinburgh Council website, they have a list of all motorcycle bays for the city.
