Engine Number

Anyone know where the engine number is stamped ?, I've just had my engine changed and would like to get the logbook amended. The only number I can find stamped is on the right hand casing, but looks more like a VIN number and nothing like the number recorded for the old engine ?

It's underneath on the lower cylinder casting between the fins......I think it is the offside cylinder? I had to photograph the number in order to read it.
