You might already know this. But in case you don't. Buy a genuine BMW filter from a dealer and you get all the washers included. For sump, FD and gear box. Makes it so much easier.

3.75 litres if you change the filter, 3.5 if you don't, but obviously you this as a guide and check the level marks. 1/2 litre between min and max.

Just make sure the original washer is still not stuck on the plug or engine
