Engine start fault?

Anyone with the new 1300GS had it where engine doesn't turn over when the button is pressed?
I saw it on an early video and it's happened twice on my triple black. Bit odd.

Also had a message on screen regarding the shift pro clutch engagement. Not sure if that's me not pulling clutch h lever fully in with short levers included in enduro pack. It's in for 1st service on Wednesday so I'll mention both things then.

I had same message come up on my new gs I also have the enduro pack fitted with stumpy levers
think I will be changing clutch lever at some stage
brake lever ok as I only use 2 fingers

On both occasions it happened to me, it just started normally second time, same with you?
Not sure if I'd been stopped with bike on and engine not running fiddling with sat nav or settings on bike, connection with headset, nav, phone etc.
Out again tomorrow getting some running in miles in so I'm going to make sure i am aware of when it happens again if it does

I'll be changing my clutch lever at first service on Wednesday. Keep crushing my finger as I try and pull lever back with short ones

Dodgy pads, BDC issue, flat battery and engine start fault I'm starting to regret ordering one. I knew i should have waited another year ,too late now 1250 has been sold !

Could the non starting just be the Lithium battery? they don't like cold.

I believe the 'pro shift clutch' message could be related to user error. Struggling to get used to two finger control of the stubby clutch lever included with the enduro package.
Done 80 miles this morning and no message and the two finger operation felt more normal. Another ride tomorrow before first service on Wednesday to make my mind up but think I'm keeping the stubby levers.

Bike did not turn over on first press again this morning but every other start it was fine, and i probably did 20 to test it.
It was on trickle charge overnight but ambient temperature was only 2 degrees so maybe the cold Is the reason.

It normally take a couple more attemts to warm it up on cold days. Once you draw current it gets warmer.

Just to be clear, you’re not using the clutch with the quick shifter are you ?

As for the start up, you may just need to wait for the bike to complete it‘s start up procedure, priming the fuel circuit etc before you hit the button, a lot of modern bike are like that

The bike I road tested had the stubby levers, I quite liked them

I looked at the enduro package, but didn’t see the starting gremlins in with that package. Maybe I can retrofit the starting gremlins, or get some aftermarket ones as I didn’t order the enduro pack.

Lithium batteries will still attempt to turn the bike over, if it is cold, it will just be very sluggish and prolly wont catch

Just leave as much electrical things on as possible to create current draw- warmth

I used to turn on the bike so the spots were lit, an then put on my gloves then swing my leg over and press the starter, sometimes it would take two attempts, but always got a reaction from the starter

I thought they said the 1300 was `an all new bike`.
They`ve obviously used the same Fisher Price battery and sluggish starting module that was used on the 1250`s....

JDS if you do change levers can you pass on part number for them and cost please

I've had a couple of "slow" starts already on mine but it's not failed to start at any point, yet.

I'm getting used to them now after 550 miles. Think they're staying. Was quoted £82 for a clutch lever.

I’ve had the startin* issue a couple of times when I’ve been out, switch on and off again then all fine……..not today though.

Had it on the drive to give it a clean, then had to push it back into the garage as it won’t start.
