Epson stylus SX218 Problems

Only printing in two colours, no black or blue. I've done the nozzle cleaning bit, no improvement. Any suggestions? Looks to me as if i need to take it apart to do some heavyweight cleaning?

Hmm, I have tried using isopropanol, but, after seeing the "service kit" I think I'll remove the cartridges and try again, see if it's viable to pour the isopropanol into the place where the cartridges go & then hit the nozzle cleaning function.

Which is exactly why the laser wins every time, nothing to clog up, sits for weeks/months and still prints when you want it.

If you can get the print head out, you may be able to clear any blocked nozzles in an ultrasonic bath. There must be something about this on the relevant forums.

I think Epson sometimes have irritating software/firmware built into their cartridges to stop them being reused and also to stop them being used beyond Epson's preferred date (in the interests of print quality), though it doesn't sound like this is the problem here.

There will likely be devices on eBay for resetting these limits anyway.
