I cant seem to find an answer on this. Does the damping change with different rider modes? I know if you select Dynamic it will change the damping to Hard but thats not what i mean. Is Medium Damping the same damping rate in Rain as it is in Dynamic? There are 4 Rider modes and 3 damping settings. So are there 12 present damning levels? Or 3 ?

Seat of my pants measurement says that damping baseline level changes with engine mode. Normal in Dynamic is harder than Normal in Road. Damping also gets harder when you add preload.

It also changes by each mode getting stiffer in two up setting, which is obvious really.

I think that when you select, for example road, then ESA sets to normal. Set to dynamic, then you get hard setting. BUT, the suspension can still be set with the switch on the handle bars to either soft, normal or hard. This within each of the modes. (as in the modes have a default suspension setting, which you can change)
I noticed for the 1st time on my last ride out that Dynamic felt a lot harsher ride. Checking the suspension setting, it was set hard. I always run in soft or normal depending on 'progress'. Roads around my area are not good...

If the suspension damping adapts to the terrain as page 69 the manual suggests does it only have 3 discrete damping settings that it can choose from or a multitude of settings around the chosen base setting of soft, normal or hard?

The damping setting doesn't change with engine modes on my bike. If I change from Road to Dynamic, the displayed damping setting doesn't change. Though what I feel through my arse does. I do dial in Hard when I'm pressing on on faster bendy bits.

If the coding plug found under the seat is plugged in the ESA remembers your settings and doesn't default back!

There is a whole thread, many pages , about the "plug " on the adv forum.

I have a feeling it was around the time when I plugged my coding plug in that my suspension problems started occurring....
