Eurotunnel compensation.

After my trip earlier in the year,and the delays experienced,I complained to Eurotunnel. I was delayed for 2 hours both ways(can't remember the reason given)Never gave it a second thought,until today.Got an email profusely apologising for said delays and a travel voucher for £255,to be used within 12 months.
So if you get delayed by more than an hour,stick a complaint in and get some recompense.Have to say I was pleasantly suprised,fair play to them.

They will be used when I book next year's trip.Regular user of the tunnel,so it's all good for me.

I've had a few refunds and free trips from Eurotunnel when I've been delayed. Not ideal to have delays, but better than nothing.

Years ago, I used to whinge about the service they provided for bikes and usually got an apology and a £25 voucher. That seems to have died a death. It helped that I could easily visit the customer service desk in person and they seemed to offer me a voucher to get rid of me! Once I had to rely on emails and phone calls they were a bit more robust.

There have always been delays in all the time I've used Eurotunnel, and I've probably made probably close to 1,000 return crossings. It was an open secret that when it was quiet they would cancel tourist crossings and put all the vehicles on the next one. A delay of 30 minutes isn't the end of the world for most passengers, but when you're trying to get home after a day at work and it happens over and over again, it got a bit wearing!

Thanks for that, I put in a claim for about 3 mins over the hour and got £75 (only paid £65 for the ticket)
