Santa,

Sorry for the delay in responding. The little people - the ones with little hands - were here over the w/e (and their mum and two huge labradors) on a visit to Granny and Grandad.

Great idea. I see where you are going with that. My GS11 isn't bluetooth so won't connect to my phone, however, I may be able to save data to my old Windows lappie in some form or other. Lord Snooty will doubtless be along in a moment to pour scorn on that scenario! Will go and try it now.

One small success is that I now have all lights working. I can see brilliantly with them should I ever find and cure the running problem allowing it to actually leave the garage.

Simon.
Si, the reason you can't connect your GS911 to your phone is because you are still using a Nokia 6310 :D I would never pour scorn on any of your shonky ideas, I'll just give your carers a call.

Good luck mate, hoping you get it sorted.:okay

Nicest thing you've said to me in years.... :pullface

The Heritage unit should be able to log live data.
Not to the phone but by USB to the Laptop in the top box.
'Morning!
I get an option to autoscan, print and clear faults. You are undoubtably right but I didn't find the live data logging. Anyway a competent (I hope) professional is going to undergo laying on of hands.

Update.
BMW specific diagnostic machine gives "no communication with ZFE" at the time of failure.
General consensus of opinion is that the ZFE has failed in some way yet to be discovered.
The ZFE is being dispatched to a firm in Holland who have a proven track record on Monday for specialist interrogation, a report and repair if possible. At a cost.
Loom continuity tests confirm what I was able to do myself in that there is no fault at this time.
The time chasing the wiring through and testing everything has not been a waste as I've learnt loads.
Further updates will be posted as they come to light.
