I wear size 13 SIDI Adventure boots and often find it difficult to get my toe under the gear shifter of my GSA. When changing from 1st to 2nd I often end up shifting into thin air, with an embarrassing engine rev to match! Would I be able to adjust the height of my GSA shift lever by removing it and refitting at a different angle? If not, does anyone know of any UK retailers for modified/extended gear shifters? Found this retailer in the USA, but would rather buy from UK if poss...

On a 1200gsa, the end piece can be rotated to adjust position.

Yes, I did this on previous GSes in the days when I used to ride in Sidi Flexforce SRS. I even did a trackday in them at one point.

Loosen the retaining bolt, remove the gear lever from the shaft, rotate it up one spline to begin with and take it from there. The splines are actually quite coarse so moving the lever up one actually raises it quite a long way. Also, if you still have the footpeg rubbers installed, removing them also helps.

Thanks. So do I just need to remove the main bolt with the teeth around the edge, and what tool would I need to remove it?...

Right, so just loosen that small bolt on the side and pull the lever off? Looks like i need to buy some torx sockets then...

Ive just found a set of torn sockets in my garage:thumb2. I don't suppose the bolt needs to be set to any particular torque setting does it?

I've had to do this too Bear. The only problem you then have is to shift down you have to take your whole foot off the foot peg

The peg end where the boot goes has a concentric cam arrangement, might get enough there first, as mentioned to move the lever is a bit course

I see what you mean. So I could just slide the rubber peg backwards along the groove?...

If so, I'm guessing I just need to loosen the torx bolt underneath?..

If you loosen the underneath bolt and twiddle it you will see how the off centre peg works.

bear i sense there could be some confusion here, the end of the gear lever tip will rotate once the torx bolt is loosened.the whole gearlever can be rotated on the splines either up or down but you must remove the torx bolt to allow this.
