Extended Warranty

I took out the warranty on my 1200ADV after the second year but chose the middle price with me picking up £50 excess and guess what, a week later the fuel pump controller went so I was glad I had the warranty but kicked myself for not taking out the zero excess option.

Now my rear shock has burst and they say it is not covered as it is only warranted up to 30K miles and I have done 48K. The dealer is pushing for a "good will" gesture but I can guess how many fingers the gesture will contain:tears

If you have no luck on the warranty, I have a rear shock for a 1200 ADV if you need one. It's done about 16,000 miles:thumb

The only thing they asked regarding the milage was what was the reading, I said does it make a difference, only that we do not cover bikes over 80k miles.

Not sure i will go over to europe next year, but its there if i need it.

Err no another bike could be worse! This one is fine.It has only ever left me stuck twice,by the roadside once not counting punctures,(and they dont count anyhow)both times FPC but one at home only took max 40 mins to sort and about 2 hours second time. The brake problem showed up on my journey to work and second time from work each time i achived my destination with no great drama. All the other stuff has been done when it suited me back at the dealer.
Each claim has been dealt with with no drama so on the whole I will stick with wot I have.
Now my first GS,a yellow one was a lemon and that did get changed by BMW but this one is no where near in its leauge.PJ54OLG seems to have dropped off the radar as far as I can tell not been registered since Jan 2007.
I bet you change yer lottery numbers every time you loose!:D
