Already had right hand switch replaced under warranty after indicators took on a life of their own - now two months out of warranty and having same problem again. Guess its the same problem but no doubt it will be the other switch that is faulty and therefore not under warranty.

The question is - does anybody know what the fault with these switches is? Is it that they let in water? - cos it seems to have been after the bike has been parked up in heavy rain tht the problem has started. If so is there anyway of improving the waterproofing or have the newer swutches been re-designed in any way to prevent this?

Had the same problem with mine, when my bike was out of warranty. Took it back to the dealer and they only charged me the labour for fitting. They had contacted BMW who agreed to provide the quite expensive part as a goodwill gesture. Suggest that you try to follow the same procedures. Good luck.

It's nothing to do with rain. My right indicator was replaced under warranty, rode out of the garage and the new one had the same fault. They then took one from a bike in the showroom and all has been OK since.

Been to dealers in Manchester this morning and they say left hand indicatir faulty and have agreed to replace for cost of labour only:clap.
This appears to be BMW policy as service dept put in a request on basis of "goodwill" and had response in less than a minute (this at 08.15am).

Would still like to know what the problem with the switches is - and is it across other models or just the GS?
