Apparently the A76 is closed at Sanquhar for a few weeks. There is a small country lane to the West of the village which looks to bypass the closure but only smaller vehicles will be able to access it.
Evening, we’re travelling to Seil Island to visit a mate later this month and would like to use the Portavadie-Tarbert ferry. I was informed that not long ago it was a foot passengers only only ferry. Can anyone give more up to date information on this please?
Portavadie ferry has always been vehicles as to get to Portavadie at least you need a vehicle ..effectively the middle of nowhere. That aside I live on Seil, hope you had a good trip.

Normally the Portavadie ferry is vehicle but it’s just been passengers and using a RIB on quite a few days recently. It was the RIB last Wednesday so we went via Iverary and Lochgilphead. Great few days on Seil with a few pints in the Oyster bar on Thursday afternoon.

Maybe ferry has been doing duties elsewhere due to current crisis so doing a rota. Glad you enjoyed it, we are lucky to have two pubs here and the is Oyster good but I use the TnT.
