Ive been searching and scowling this site and ADVriders and google and YouTube to no avail, Can anyone please direct me to Mr Steptoes post on how to dismantle a FD with bearing and new seal please. or any other post with pics or video with reference to the above. I have looked at the sticky from Mr Steptoe on the top of the page but cant find a more detailed one.. Thank You......Tosh.

Do you mean THIS.

Most tech articles are in the font of wisdom, the section above the model specific forums. It's only open to subscribers......
Thankyou Sir Steptoe, I have looked at everything in the "font of all wisdom" many many times, also I have looked at your tutorials many many times..
So the one that you are referring to I have already seen...
Thankyou Sir Steptoe.......Tosh..

That's the very one..A very big thankyou Mr Packer....Tosh..

You're welcome, have a nice day.

P.S. At home, bearing in the oven, shaft in the freezer for a few hours. The bearing will fall on, don't forget to put the shim on first if you've removed and cleaned it.

shaft in the freezer ??? just leave it outside thats colder than my freezer..

What, to warm it up???

-9.5ºC here today, Yorkshire:pullface

Just done mine this morning, yes heat gun to warm up bearing and gear in deep freeze dropped on a treat, but its 22C at 08:00 in the morning here in Johannesburg, just as an indication it took me hour and a half total so it not too much of a mission:augie

It amazes me that people who don't know ( I didn't until Mr Steptoe ) slate the big gs's for their final drive systems when it's a couple of hours and relatively cheap to diagnose and fix.
Apart from a couple of electrical problems and a few niggles here and there the big gs is a great bike...knowledge is power, and thanks to this site and guru's like Mr Steptoe my world is a better place....Tosh.

Just wait untill you get oil leaking out of all four wheel bolt hole's,
That;s when the fun really begins :eek
