Quick question- I'm in the process of changing the pivot bearings in the final drive housing (2007 bike). The ball bearing has come out OK, but its not obvious (to me, at least) which way the needle roller comes out.
Is it towards the inside or outside of the unit?
Thought it best to check before I risk buggering something up;)
Thanks.

It will come out either way,
Your choice depending on the method used
Make a note of the depth it’s set at,
No massively critical but needs to be close to where it was

Oh,and if poss use a press rather than smacking shit out of it,:D
The side wall is pretty thin and may well break:comfort

Thanks Mike,
I did think it would be on its way to you when I first discovered the amount of play there, thinking it was the FD bearings, but closer inspection found the culprit.
Thats the weekend sorted anyway!
